26.5 x 21.5cm leatherbound WW1 photograph album with approximately 270 photographs, mainly snapshot sized, many of which are labelled.
Photos start in Durban, South Africa in 1916 but quickly move on to the Middle East; scenes from Baghdad, Tigris, Kut etc. Soon after, Photographs are from Egypt and Palestine dated 1918. Owner appears to have been in an army unit circa 1916 and then circa 1918 plus was back in the Middle East with the Royal Flying Corps/Royal Air Force. Lots of photos of officers, ladies/nurses, various aircraft, pilots etc, lots of scenic shots, many of the pyramids and other ancient Egyptian sites. Too many to describe but the photographs in the listing should give a good idea of content.
Along with the album are 18 loose large photos, most 20.5 x 16cm all of an aviation nature; aerial shots, aircraft, parades etc, appear to be circa late war or into 1919.
