SOUTH AFRICA 1877-9, CLASP, 1879 ‘...PATK. LACEY. 94TH FOOT.’
Quartermaster Sergeant Patrick Lacey, 94th Foot, was Commissioned Quartermaster on 10 November 1869 and served with the 94th during the Zulu War of 1879. He was present at the battle of Ulundi and later served in the Sekukuni Campaign in late 1879. The 1899 Army List shows him as a retired Major.
The 94th Connaught Rangers had a long service in South Africa, taking part in the Zulu War, including the battle of Ulundi, The Sekukuni Campaign, in which they were heavily involved and afterwards the 1st Boer War.
Condition attempted erasure over most of naming, rank pretty much gone but rest is still easily made out. Despite this, a scarce Officers medal.
