A SECOND WAR NEW ZEALAND MEMORIAL CROSS GROUP TO A 75 (NZ) SQUADRON PILOT R.N.Z.A.F. WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION DURING A BOMBING MISSION ON THE NIGHT OF THE 29/30 JULY 1942

1939/45 STAR, AIR CREW EUROPE STAR, DEFENCE AND WAR MEDALS, NEW ZEALAND WAR SERVICE MEDAL, NEW ZEALAND MEMORIAL CROSS ‘NZ41914 F/SJT. G.A.HUTT’, MEMORIAL SCROLL.

Flight Sergeant Allister George Hutt, Royal New New Zealand Air Force, was killed in action as whilst piloting a Wellington Bomber engaged on the night of the 29/30 July 1942 on air operations over enemy territory. All crew were Killed in Action. George is interred at Becklingen War Cemetery, Soltau, Niedersachsen, Germany. George was aged 26.

Memorial scroll has been framed with two small oval inserts cut the lower corners, one with an original photograph of Hutt and his wife, the other with Hutt’s New Zealand Memorial Cross. To the reverse of the frame, is pasted the King’s enclosure slip. This display was clearly done by the family and later remounted in a more modern border and frame. Campaign medals court mounted, with two R.N.Z.A.F. Shoulder insignia, the latter removed from another frame with traces of mounting to reverse.
