625 Private Adam Millikin was born in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire and enlisted into the 16th Lancers in London on 9 July 1830. He served with the regiment in Afghanistan, being present at Ghuznee in 1839 and later the Sutlej campaign, taking part in the battles of Aliwal and Sobraon. He died on 1s August 1846, reason unknown. He was not present at Maharajpoor, the Ghuznee and Sutlej medals being his only entitlement.
Condition GVF/VF. Sutlej repined or better. Sold with a large and very well put together file of research with much detail of the regiments service in Afghanistan and the Sutlej campaigns. A fine pair of medals.
