Private Mark Book served in 7 Platoon, ‘C’ Company, 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment in Canada Circa 1981 and was presumably still with this company at the battle of Mount Longdon, 11/12th June 1982, during the Falklands War of 1982. 7 Platoon were the lead company.

During the battle of Mount Longdon, 3 Para had lost 23 men killed and 47 wounded. The Argentine force lost 31 killed, 120 wounded and 50 men captured. Details of C Company during the battle of Mount Longdon and beyond, with quotes by men from 7 Platoon, are featured in James O’Connell’s outstanding ‘Three Days in June’.

Booth ran for 3 Para in various Cross Country events, and their are various entries relating to him during these competitions in the Pegasus journal, 1981-83.

Condition GVF, mounted as worn. Sold with several group photographs which include private Booth, one taken at Mount Longdon after the battle. Also copy pages from the Pegasus journal.
