John William Waldon initially enlisted into the 22nd (The Queen’s) London Regiment on 24 October 1913 and served overseas from March 1915 until April 1916 when hospitalized. Serving overseas again from October 1916 until May 1918 when he was again hospitalized (sick) and then went to Cadet School. He was discharged in March 1919. When he transferred to the Army Cyclist Corps is unknown but he is wearing the Corps cap badge in three of the photos with the group. Walden is noted as having been wounded in the neck during the war.
Condition; generally VF or better. Sold with a set of miniatures, 8 x General Service buttons and the following insignia; Cyclist Corps Badges x 2, Sweetheart badge x 1 and shoulder titles x 2; The Queens, badges x 2, shoulder title x 1. Additionally, photocopies of discharge, 1 original and 3 copy photos of Walden in uniform and a 47 (London) Divisional Cyclist Company 40th Annual re-union dinner menu with multiple autographs to back. A most interesting group.
