SOUTH AFRICA 1877-9, CLASP 1879 ‘1779. GUNR W. MOSES. 7TH BDE R.A.’

1776 Gunner William Moses served with 8th Battery 7th Brigade Royal Artillery during the Zulu War.

This battery served in the field in Zululand from the 2nd April 1879, to the 2nd August. Though not actually engaged with the enemy, it went through many hardships on convoy and other duties. The battery was stationed in April at Fort Pearson; in May, at Fort Tenedos; in June, at Fort Burke; in July, at Fort Crealock; and in August, at Camp Sacchini.
